As an inventor, entrepreneur, consultant, trainer and speaker,
Ron Pellman's entire career has focused on the management of innovation. He has conducted
over 300 new product, new business development, and technology planning projects
for leading companies in the U.S. and Europe. He has also directed numerous seminars
on the subjects of creativity, new product development, innovation management, and
strategic leadership.
Prior to forming PEI in late 1994, Mr. Pellman worked 8 years
as the president of Pinchot & Company helping both large and smaller organizations
rekindle their intrapreneurial spirit. Prior to this his 25 year consulting career
included a founding partnership and presidency in a management consulting company
specialized in innovating solutions to business growth problems and the US divisional
presidency of an international consulting firm specialized in new product development.
He is also a founding principal of a medical/safety electronics company.
Before becoming a business consultant, Mr. Pellman established
an R&D facility for a manufacturer of machine tool control products where he
successfully developed a number of innovative solid-state electronic products.
Mr. Pellman received his early experience in the application
of creative techniques to product innovation and business problem-solving while working
at the Ford Motor Company with Mr. George Muller, a pioneer in this area. As principal
engineer of Ford's Advanced Vehicle Concepts Department, he headed a group responsible
for providing overall futuristic vehicle direction. After leaving Ford in the late
60's he was retained by the company as a consultant, a relationship which has continued
to this day.
Mr. Pellman received a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from
the Carnegie Institute of Technology, majored in Fine Arts/Design at the University
of Buffalo, and has done postgraduate work in electronics. Early in his career, this
unique combination of design and mechanical ability helped him to win the Fisher
Body Craftsman's Guild National Automotive Styling and Craftsmanship competition.
Mr. Pellman holds a broad range of patents extending from a
unique transmission shift system to a new type of frozen food cutter. Avocationally
he designs and fabricates race cars and drives them with some success. He recently
won his 6th SCCA Northeast Road Racing Regional Championship.
